#22 Open Access Comes Alive at Network X Paris

At Network X 2025 in Paris, the Broadband Forum Innovation Demos served as a powerful stage to demonstrate what open access looks like when it actually works. For us, this was a great opportunity to demonstrate our platform and automation in action—not as theory, but as a live, end-to-end customer journey.

The demo showcased Fixed Access Network Sharing, where multiple virtual network operators share the same physical infrastructure while remaining fully isolated at the service level. Each operator ran on its own virtual OLT instance, while the infrastructure provider retained full visibility and control across the network. All of it orchestrated automatically, using open standards.

It all started in the marketplace. A customer connected through a captive portal, selected an address, compared multiple ISPs, chose a gigabit service, and placed an order. From that moment on, everything happened automatically. The order flowed straight through the BSS/OSS, triggered zero-touch provisioning in the access network, and within seconds the service was live—clearly visible as active for both the service provider and the infrastructure owner.

The second use case shifted control to the virtual network operator. Using their own portal or API, the operator pre-provisioned an ONT, applied a service intent, and activated a residential gigabit service independently. No manual handovers. No ambiguity. Just fast, predictable provisioning with full separation of responsibilities.

What made this demo special wasn’t just the technology—it was the proof. Proof that automation, open access, and wholesale transparency can coexist. Proof that standards from the Broadband Forum can be turned into real operational workflows. And proof that operators can scale faster while delivering a better customer experience.
